Wriggly Rhymes was created by Claire Elliott, and all the books featured make wonderful bedtime stories to read aloud to children.  All the stories have different rhyming patterns, and are a lovely way to introduce your children to books.  Take a look at the Stories / Features page to find out more about the characters in the Wriggly Rhymes range.

Rhyming books are not always easy to find, and primary schools across the country  teach children from an early age about rhyming and poetry.  In fact it features strongly in their Key Stage 1 curriculum for young readers.

Although learning to read is a vital part of growing up, books and stories should always be fun and enjoyed by parents and children alike.  If you read, of course you learn, that goes without saying, but reading should always be a pleasure and never a chore.

Books take you to worlds that fire the imagination and bring a joy that will remain with a child for life.  These first, simple stories are a stepping stone to introducing children to reading and the magic of books.  My children still remember the stories I read to them at bedtime.  The ones that made them laugh, the ones that scared them a little, and the ones they remembered word for word and recited along with me, long before they could read.
